Alameda
The East Bay's best kept secret is the Island City of Alameda and the adjoining peninsula of Bay Farm Island.
Our Favorites in the Area
Alameda is where we call home and we are passionate about this city. Here's why.
From the quiet treelined streets, rich and varied architecture, and thriving community, Alameda is truly a special place to live. The pace of life slows just a bit as speed limit drops to 25 MPH, a reprieve that locals will tell you sets this place apart from the hustle and bustle of the East Bay. On any given day, you'll see residents walking, biking, or jogging on the many island paths with unobstructed views of the San Francisco Bay and city skyline, or simply sitting on the beach enjoying the sunset. The community is tight-knit; it's not uncommon to know many of your neighbors and local business owners. If you're looking for a strong community, a calming pace of life and beauty at every turn, look no further.

What Our Clients Say
Steve L2024-06-14My wife and I interviewed two realtors prior to meeting with David and Hans to sell my childhood home and we were blown away with their presentation that included sales data to back up the current market, a breakdown of all the services they provide which includes an optional investment to elevate the property for an optimal sale price. They shared our vision and enthusiasm on turning this former home into a welcoming space for the next family to take over. They went out of the way in helping us with a non-related issue that came up with the county and saved us thousands of dollars in property taxes. They offer full service from getting a project manager, contractors for the renovation, staging and marketing. They are very communicative throughout the entire process which granted us peace of mind knowing this project was in the best of hands. I walked through the house right before the open house and I couldn't believe the transformation. The house looked amazing, better than what we could have ever imagined and below budget! We ultimately sold the home above asking and I couldn't be happier. They exceeded our expectations in every aspect, we recommend them to anyone selling their property and encourage them to meet Hans or David in person.sergei shkurkin2024-05-29Hans Struzyna and the team at the Gunderman Group did a terrific job assisting our family in selling two houses in Berkeley that were part of our Uncle’s trust. Their team provided everything we needed, including referrals to a trust attorney, an attorney to deal with tenant buyouts, property managers, remodeling contractors, staging, and all aspects of marketing. They even helped us with financing the entire effort. They were professional but also very patient and kind. We would recommend them unconditionally to anyone who has a complex real estate situation involving trusts and tenants.John Sanders2024-04-10David, Hans, Kristin and team were absolutely amazing in helping us sell our home. They took care of every detail, ensuring we were informed, taking action, and obtaining the best value we could for our home in all the decisions we were making. Their network did a great job in handling all the last details of prepping the home and staging it - it never looked better even when we lived there! Can't recommend them enough if you're looking for a trusted and reliable group that will do their best to achieve what you're after.A Landers2024-03-03Hans has tremendous experience and knowledge in the East Bay housing market. This coupled with his tenacity on his clients behalf and a perfect balance of "patience and push" was just what we needed. It's also comforting to know that the relationship didn't end at close of escrow. Hans and Kristin have kept in touch and graciously shared their contacts and recommendations for service providers of all types and even potential places to find good deals on furnishings. Hans was amazing on his own when we started working together and was made stronger yet by teaming with Kristin. I highly recommend them if you're in the market to buy or sell in the Oakland/Alameda area!Akhil Batheja2024-02-27Hans and Kristin are an incredible team, happy to rate them 5 stars. They were both very patient through my long home shopping process and even more so when the deal took a lot longer than we would have liked to execute. Extremely knowledgeable and helpful, they aided my process through strategic advice, opening up their network to me to get help when I needed, and drilling down to detailed tactics. They put my needs as a customer first and made sure to understand what is important to me. Finally, they helped make sure I can realize the maximum value in my home purchasing process - ensuring my offers were competitive, yet fair in a dynamic and complicated market. No hesitation in recommending them.Omed Habib2024-02-26When dealing with most businesses, you come across A-players, B-players, and C-players. C-players are "good enough." B-players do a great job and get a high-five. On rare occasions, you come across an A-player, and Hans Stuzyna is a perfect example of one. I entered the uncertain Bay Area housing market with little hope of being successful. I came across a home that I fell in love with and contacted the listing agent. Hans - who worked for the same firm - picked up the phone. Hans walked me through my options - phone call after phone call, text message after text message. Hans gave me the guidance I needed and stood by my side as we entered a fierce bidding war on a dream home. We won the house and soon opened escrow to close after precisely 21 days! After we closed the home, our water heater went out. I was desperately working with the warranty company to try and repair, but they denied us because they believed it was a preexisting condition. I called Hans for help and he sprang into action. We submitted a home inspection report to prove the water heater was working and obtained agreement from the warranty company that they'll repair. This wasn't good enough for Hans. He checked in with me almost every day making sure we had hot water. When the wait times were almost an hour with the warranty company, Hans used his resources to obtain communication for me quicker. Through this entire process, I did not so much as hear a "sigh" come out of him. There was no delay in his response. Hans gave an authentic damn, even after we closed escrow and he was not contractually obligated to do so. This is what an A-player does. This is how an A-player stands out from the crowd.Jason B2024-02-22Worked with realtor partner Hans Struzyna. The process of selling felt effortless and streamlined. Together, we discussed a plan for renovation and listing. All decisions felt completely up to my family. No pressure felt on decision making whatsoever. From there, Hans executed the vision and did it beyond our expectations. Any stress and anxiety I had going into the process subsided. Everything felt taken care of. Yet, the lines of communication were always open if needed. The house ended up being sold above what we anticipated. Highly recommend Hans Struzyna. If you have the opportunity to sell through him, you should take it!Kathie Grimes2024-02-17David, Hans, Suzanne, Jodie, and Dede were so amazing in making our home sale a pleasurable and easy experience. The Gunderman team goes above and beyond to make each step simple, easy and stress free. This group of professionals are knowledgeable, communicative on every level and make you feel as if you were old friends. We were concerned about the state of the real estate market and the team assured us that we had nothing to worry about. They were absolutely right, we sold and closed our house in 17 days. My husband and I would highly recommend the Gunderman team to everyone. The process of which they use has a proven winning record and we would use them again if ever the need.
