About Hans & Kristin
Hans and Kristin are known for their passion and proficiency in East Bay real estate. They expertly advocate for the clients they partner with. They are highly skilled at buyer representation where their average client writes less than three offers, well below the industry average. This is due to their mastery of the market and understanding of the nuances that buying a home in the East Bay presents. What’s more, they help 20% secure off market listings. On the flip side, Hans and Kristin excel at preparing homes for market through thoughtful renovations and curated marketing experience that create stellar outcomes.
From the Olympics to Luxury Real Estate
Hans and Kristin met while training for the Olympic Games in rowing. Hans, born and raised in Seattle, attended the University of Washington and graduated from the coveted Foster School of Business. He also won two national championships in rowing while at the UW. Real estate was his passion from a young age; his great grandfather was a revered commercial real estate developer who played a part in building Seattle’s skyline in the ‘60s.
Kristin, born and raised in Boston, studied business management at the University of Wisconsin where she also won two national championships as a Badger. Growing up, her family continuously renovated and upgraded the homes she lived in, ultimately selling them for a profit before moving to the next one. She experienced the power of real estate design and equity building firsthand.
Their worlds converged on the Oakland-Alameda estuary while training for an Elite US rowing team. They immediately felt connected to each other – and to the East Bay community. After racing at the Olympics (Kristin in 2012, Hans in 2016) and around the world for Team USA, they rented an apartment in Alameda’s East End before planting roots in the Gold Coast.

“My partner and I recently worked with Hans and Kristin Struzyna to purchase a home in Oakland and we can’t recommend them enough. They are not trying to get you to buy a house or push a sale on you at all. They are trying to ensure you buy *your* house that is perfect for you and they provide a whole suite of services to support you in your search. They made themselves available at ungodly hours to help us do emergency quick walk-throughs or put in last minute bids. Best of all, they provided great advice as we navigated the crazy Bay Area housing market during unprecedented changes in rates and market dynamics.”
